Faster shutter = less light and less motion
Slower shutter= more light and more motion
Rule of thumb…… 125th of a second will stop the motion of an average person walking.
Smaller numbers = more light and shallower DOF (Depth of Field..How much is in focus at one time front to back.)
Larger numbers = less light and deeper DOF
Example….. f/2.8 lets in more light than f/5.6 or f/8.0
Higher ISO = more light sensitive, but more noise.
Lower ISO = less light sensitive, but cleaner image.
Try to always get as close to ISO 100 as you can.
